2014 Highlights

Guinness World Record attempt, June 7

Vancouver Mini Maker Faire will host a lively and no-doubt hilarious attempt to set the new Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously crocheting. On Saturday, June 7 from 1:00-2:00pm PT, 500 Vancouverites are expected to crochet together to break the current record of 426 people. After this uproarious feat, a local artist will create an installation at the event, using all of the crocheted pieces. Vancouver yarn company SweetGeorgia Yarns is donating 10,000 yards of hand-dyed yarn for the effort. Registrants must sign up here and will receive a discount on tickets to the Faire: http://bit.ly/1jwOe6N

BC Libraries Cooperative’s MakerBrarians

The BC Libraries Co-op is excited about the future of Makerspaces in libraries, and will feature projects from a number of different BC libraries engaging the maker ethos, including drones, raspberryPis, and a maker pop-up lab.
