In its fourth year, the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire (VMMF) returns at the PNE Forum June 7 and 8 to inspire DIY enthusiasts at Vancouver’s biggest show and tell. At this family-friendly event, over 100 diverse Makers come together as a community to share what they have made and learned with interactive displays, demonstrations, and Making opportunities relating to art, electronics, robotics, music, crafts, kinetic sculptures, fire art, computer hacking, quilting, farming, engineering, and everything in between.
Guinness World Record attempt, June 7
Vancouver Mini Maker Faire will host a lively and no-doubt hilarious attempt to set the new Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously crocheting. On Saturday, June 7 from 1:00-2:00pm PT, 500 Vancouverites are expected to crochet together to break the current record of 426 people. After this uproarious feat, a local artist will create an installation at the event, using all of the crocheted pieces. Vancouver yarn company SweetGeorgia Yarns is donating 10,000 yards of hand-dyed yarn for the effort. Registrants must sign up here and will receive a discount on tickets to the Faire: http://bit.ly/1jwOe6N
